How to claim a prize won in the Samrudhi lottery?
Prizes under ₹5,000 can be claimed from any authorized retailer/agent in Kerala. For prizes between ₹5,000 and ₹1 Lakh, you must visit a District Lottery Office. Winnings above ₹1 Lakh must be claimed from the Director of State Lotteries in Thiruvananthapuram. Keep in mind that all claims must be filed within 30 days of the draw.
What are the tax rules for Samrudhi winnings?
Under Section 194B of the Income Tax Act, a flat 30% TDS is deducted on winnings above ₹10,000. Additionally, a 10% agent commission is deducted before releasing the prize money to the ticket holder.
